On the first day of fall there is an unspoken rule that it is ok to start wearing layering pieces, such as vests. However, if you live in an in-between-state, like Georgia, some days it feels like fall, other days it feels like summer, and some days it feels like fall in the a.m. and then like summer in the p.m. So, until Mother Nature can decide whether it is fall or not here in Georgia, I am going to continue what I call the in-between-layering technique.
When cooler mornings and hot afternoons are forecasted, I like to layer a light blouse with a Vest, aka my in-between-layering technique. This style allows me to feel and look like I am dressed for fall, yet the flexibility to cool down when it gets too warm.
I tend to gravitate towards pairing basic colors together, with white and blue topping off my list of favorite combinations. Navy is a rich color that blends perfectly with the Fall landscape so pairing it with fairer colors adds great contrast to any look. For a less nautical look, pair navy with blush, light grey or camel.
