Have you ever wanted to try an at home detox water but felt like it was a waste of time and money because you aren’t home enough? I know I have. I recently found the perfect solution. A Water Bottle with a compartment to infuse nutrients and flavor into your water! How genius right? I am sure these have been around for ages but I have just jumped on the band wagon and love it!
A few months back, to prepare for a trip to Mexico, I drank the Dr. Oz Fat Flush Water. Not so much to lose weight {even though anyone about to be in a bikini wouldn’t mind it} but to cleanse my body, because I knew what the all inclusive menu meant to my health! I loved the flavor so much that I have adjusted the recipe so that it fits into a Water Bottle with an infuser {see below}.
The best part is that you can re-use the fruits/veggies for a few days. I cut the ingredients on Sunday night, put them in the bottle {extra goes in the fridge} and fill the bottle with filtered water and let it cool in the fridge overnight. On Monday morning it is ready to go to work with me. I prefer to pour the water into another cup for drinking {to avoid germs on the lid} and fill the bottle up with filtered water {if this isn’t available, regular water will do} as the day goes on. Depending on your flavor preference you can increase/decrease the amount of an item below and replace the fruits/veggies as often as you like. For me, I re-use the same ingredients for a few days.
What You Will Need:
- Water Bottle with an Infuser (check out Marshall’s)
- Filtered Water
- Grapefruit
- Orange
- Cucumber
- Mint Leaves
Steps for Detox Water on the Go:
*keep in mind the size of the infuser and alter any measurements below
- 2-3 slices Grapefruit : using one half, slice wedges about a ½ inch thick.
- 3-4 triangles of Oranges : using one half, cut out 8 identical triangles
- 4 slices of Cucumber : cut into ½ inch thick pieces, and then cut in ½ (this is a slice)
- 2-3 Mint Leaves
- Fill up the Bottle 7/8ths with filtered water
- Screw On the Infuser tube
- Put in the ingredients from steps 1 -4 {if you have to squish that is ok, the juices will seep into the water}
- Store in the fridge over night
- Refill with water as it gets low
That’s it! Simple enough, right? Will you give detox water on the go a try?
