One Midtown Kitchen + Dinner Date
A few things you should know : I am terrible with directions, P and I love to eat at new restaurants and I love giving gifts/surprises.
Earlier this year as P and I were headed to dinner, I got caught up in a story {which is typical for me} and I forgot to tell him to turn left. So we wound up driving down a side road to turn around when a purple light caught my eye. I gasped and fell in love with the sign for One Midtown Kitchen. Since we had reservations elsewhere, I snapped a picture of the sign and took a screenshot on my phone of the address.
Recently, I was scrolling through my pictures, and I found the screenshot of One Midtown Kitchen and decided to surprise P with reservations. Instead of telling him, I added the reservation to our shared calendar synced to our phones and set the reminder 4 hours in advance. He was thrilled!
I had been planning my outfit for a few days, this fabulous dress from Stryker & Elizabeth. I normally shy away from bright bold patterns like this one, but when I slipped into the dress it was magical. I added a braided belt to create a silhouette for date night, but I also love wearing it looser for a more relaxed event!
Upon arriving to One Midtown Kitchen and opening the heavy metal doors, P and I were immediately in love. The Urban-Chic-Hipster vibe was absolutely perfect. The hidden location made the night even more romantic.
P ordered a local craft brew, I chose a pomegranate cocktail and we split fried okra as we waited for our meals. Our drinks were wonderful, but the okra, was fantastic. We barely spoke as we ate it. I think we were both secretly scared the other wouldn’t stop eating if we began to speak. When our meals arrived (P got a burger and I got pasta) it was like de-ja-vu from our appetizer. Our meals were so amazing (P’s burger was hands down the best I have had) we almost forgot to share with each other!
Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but I am sure we will be back!
