How to Wear a Graphic Tee to Work

Graphic Tee’s have been all the rage this season. They are casual yet trendy which makes them a perfect styling option when running errands or grabbing brunch. Since they are sitting in our closets, why not get our money’s worth and wear them to work too?

The number one rule for office styling is to always understand your corporate culture. Unfortunately, if your workplace is conservative, I would recommend skipping the graphic tee at work trend. However, if your office is laid back, I suggest pairing your graphic tee with a skirt and blazer. A skirt will give a business-casual vibe and a blazer adds a girlboss characteristic.

If you aren’t a skirt person, then opt for above the ankle pants and a tweed jacket. This will pull the look together, without looking too, Cop Pant Suit Miss Congeniality Sandra Bullock like.

When choosing a skirt, I prefer a pencil skirt to keep a sleek line, but always dress for your body type. A non traditional blazer, like this one will add a bit of sophistication and personality to the look. Since, my graphic tee and skirt have a fun print, I prefer to keep jewelry to a minimum.

Last but not least, to complete your look add a professional pair of shoes. My personal ‘shoe’ rules to live by:

  1. When a skirt is above the knee, I pair it with flats, kitten heels, or pumps no higher than three inches {keep pumps neutral}
  2. When a skirt is below the knee, I pair it will heels or pointy toe d’orsay flats

WHAT DO YOU THINK, WILL YOU TRY THE GRAPHIC TEE AT WORK TREND?
