Cruising : Day 1 Recap

Cruise Dress

Last week, P and I went on a 4 night cruise to The Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise before and couldn’t wait to experience it!  We left on the Sunday after storm Erika hit The Bahamas, so our itinerary was not altered, but our first day/night at sea was very bumpy. As it was my first night, I assumed the entire cruise would be this way, thankfully it was not! The ship steadied out and we could walk around without feeling like a toddler first learning to walk.

We overheard another guest say ‘I have never felt drunk before without actually being drunk …’ which perfectly describes how it felt to walk {or sit} at that matter! Thankfully neither of us got motion sickness, but we brought medication just in case.

I chose to wear this nautical dress during our 7 hour road trip to the ship because it is cute and comfortable {I literally wear it everywhere}. I knew that after a long day of traveling, the last thing I would want to do was plan a new outfit for the evening festivities. So I added a belt to give it more shape, leopard peep toe flats, and a jean jacket {because the ships A/C got quite cold}.

After dinner, we headed outside to the top deck to explore. The wind and waves were a lot to handle so we didn’t stay long, but you can see the Ship’s pool area behind me in some of the pictures!

Recap of the Day :: After a 7 hour drive, on and off rain, over eating at the lunch buffet, indulging on our 3 course dinner, and few tasty cocktails — our vacation was off to a great start!
