Happy Monday lovelies … I am back! I took a week hiatus from blogging {I was so bummed … but there are only 24 hours in a day, and my time was limited}. I am so excited to be back and sharing yet another look of my fall obsession, faux leather pants! This look was created for a Saturday night out on the Town, which included borrowing a staple piece from Paolo’s closet!
faux leather pants h&m | love crop top h&m last season | plaid flannel american eagle {mens} print last season | suede booties me too @ dsw last season this seasons style here & here | kate spade purse old this season here
Even though I have been wanting fall-like weather for a while now, the day it hits, is the day I am in the mood for a crop top {go figure}. So I decided to improvise. My number 1 rule for crop tops : always wear high waisted in accompaniment. My grandma always told me, a Woman’s waist should be the center of attention {not her belly button … she sure did hate when low-rise jeans were all the rage}. With my Grandma’s advice in mind and my desire to wear leather pants {which were not high waisted} and a crop, I ventured to Paolo’s closet for the finishing touch…
A boyfriend shirt… Not a ‘boyfriend’ style bought from the Womens section, but a real mens flannel. Besides the comfort factor, there are so many reasons why this was the perfect finishing touch. First, I try not to wear too many tight-form fitting clothes. This flannel tied at my waist played up my silhouette and added layers. Next, the tied flannel ALSO allowed for an autumnized crop top look {you can still see bits of skin peaking through}. Finally, I love the effect of plaid in the fall, it pairs well with just about anything {denim, lace, leather, silk, fur … you name it!} and it kept me warm!
My advice when you want a ‘boyfriend’ look … Boyfriends/Husbands/Dads have the best selection and it doesn’t require a trip to the mall! A huge thank you to Paolo for sharing his closet … I am pretty sure this flannel will be on repeat {for me at least} this fall!
Thank you so much for reading … what is your fall obsession?!
